In a team of altogether 42 researchers from various disciplines, we discussed the potentials of the metaverse.
The article has now been published in the International Journal of Information Management.
42 is not only the answer to the “ultimate question about life, the universe, and everything” – it is also the number of interdisciplinary authors who contributed to what is probably the longest Metaverse article ever. Many thanks to my colleague Yogesh K Dwivedi, who led this project!

Reto Felix, Chris Hinsch and I discuss the role of #XR as part of the metaverse. We also discuss the potential of metaverse marketing. Yes, futuristic, as we argue that a “real” metaverse is more of a vision these days than something we can already experience. I’ve already discussed the basic idea of this article in this blog post.
